Vote for Celina’s Tender Smokehouse – President Award Finalist

CELINA Magazine is the only publication that distributes 10,000+ copies to households and businesses in Celina and surrounding areas. Each issue focuses on Health, Education, Lifestyle, Community Events and businesses, making it the premiere publication in the Celina area.

Tender Smokehouse has been selected as one of four finalists for Best Downtown Business for the 2018 President’s Award Program! As a finalists, Tender is also in the running for the People’s Choice Award where the winner is determined by Facebook voting. To vote for Tender Smokehouse follow @CelinaMainStreetSquare on Facebook, click on the actual picture of Tender Smokehouse in the news feed and “like” or “love” the picture! You have to “like” the actual picture for voting to count (and not the post). Voting ends this Friday, October 19th at noon!

 

The Best Downtown Business Award recognizes an exceptional downtown business that positively promotes the downtown or commercial district as a destination for locals and tourists alike, and actively participates in the revitalization efforts and supports downtown promotional events.

 

Tender Smokehouse opened in Celina’s Historic Downtown Square in September 2017 and serves hand-crafted Texas BBQ and scratch-made sides. The restaurant quickly became a favorite for residents and visitors alike.  “In a little over a year, Tender Smokehouse has made an impact not only on the downtown square but also on the community as a whole. In addition to the delicious barbeque, when you walk in the door you experience a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that residents of Celina value,” describes Rebecca Barton, Downtown Development Manager for the City of Celina.

 

One hundred and eleven entries were submitted in twelve different categories from communities across the state.  Winners will be announced on November 7 at the Awards Gala held in conjunction with the 2018 Texas Downtown Conference in Corpus Christi.  For more information about the President’s Awards, please visit www.texasdowntown.org or contact Rebecca Barton, Downtown Development Manager for the City of Celina at rbarton@celina-tx.gov.

Have you seen road construction on Dallas North Tollway lately? Collin County is currently working on the southbound service lanes on Dallas North Tollway from USHWY 380 to FM428. This project will help our current and future citizens with transportation. The construction work is expected to be completed by summer 2020.
